Continue reading
Finally, It is happening! I have now a job position all about population genomics of marine mammals. It could not be better 🙂
So in the next three years I will focus myself on the marine mammals and all that comes with population genomics. I’m looking forward to it 🙂

I’m fascinated by marine mammals, especially cetaceans since childhood and therefore was glad to take a course during my masters, focusing on their past and development.
This post now is based on a talk I hold during this course about the Evolution of Cetaceans.

Mammals are one group of vertebrates. Although not the one with the most extreme adaptions or highest number of species, they are a very diverse group showing great adaptions to environmental challenges and interesting evolutionary history. For me they are more than fascinating which brought me to study this wonderful group of the animal kingdom.
After having a year full of change and lot’s of different impressioon of biology and research work, I decided to puttogether this Blogg. Since I finally think that I found my direction and focus in research, this Bloggs Name, mirroed my main interests which I will follow in the comming time. On this page I put together my own research as well as interesting papers, talks or what I came along during my studies and consider interesting for others.
So have fun reading and don’t hestiate to contact me when quations, ideas or comments came to your mind 🙂
The understanding where all the life we see at the moment has come from, and how species of different continents show same morphology and behavior fascinated me. Seeing intelligence in different species and specific adaption through different kind of species is impressive and I can’t stop asking more and more questions and search for more and more answers.
I want to know everything and I get surprised sometimes of how the evolution find ways. With more and more knowledge and methods old options get renewed and new insights can be gained. Therefore science is a never ending story and I love to be part of it and go through the way of finding new answers of old and new questions. . .
